Illinois POWER Test Instructions
POWER – Police Officer Wellness Evaluation Report
The Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board recognized the importance of physical fitness for police recruits in order to meet the physical and academic demands of the police academy without injury or fatigue. ILETSB subsequently established the POWER test requirements – which sets minimum completion standards in four fitness tests based on the candidates age and gender. All persons entering an Illinois Police Academy are required to successfully complete the POWER test prior to acceptance into the academy.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Merit Commission requires the successful completion of the POWER Test prior to any addition testing.
